My favorites

In this guide, we'll look at how to receive private DMs when your favorite coworkers have their special day.

What are favorites?

If you have a coworker whose birthday/anniversary you want to be privately reminded of, you can add them to your list of favorites. Whenever anyone from your list of favorites has their special day, Jolly will send you a private DM notifying you about the celebration so that you can personally reach out to them for congratulations.

For example, if you're a company of 500, you might only be interested in your team's birthdays, with the addition of a few people from other teams that you work with. This is a great use case for adding those people to your list of favorites.

This option is available for every user in your Slack organization, doesn't matter if admin or not.

Adding people to favorites is especially great when you're not a member of the Slack channel where that coworker receives celebration messages. To learn more about this, visit Adding to Slack channels.

Managing favorites

To manage the list of your favorites, do the following:

Open Jolly from your Slack sidebar

Press the "Home" tab

Press the "My favorites" button

Select the people you want to receive messages for
